If you Live in the West Midlands, you might be pleased to know that there are a number of free cycle maps you can obtain from various councils. They range from very useful (Birmingham, Solihull) to not very useful at all (Walsall) but all offer the cyclist some route planning advice.

I'd recommend picking up a copy of each. If you use these maps in partnership with the rail network, you might just find yourself making a few extra journeys under your own, two wheeled power.
